India's education has a rich past. It all started with high-quality education at the Universities of Nalanda & Taxila. India is still plagued by a large illiteracy problem that has led to economic backwardness in many parts of the country. However, it can be stated that India has made great strides in spreading education to the masses.

 

India's literacy rate in primary education Top 50 Schools in Delhi  has reached two-thirds. The country's improved education system aims to make education accessible to all. The development of higher education in the country has been made possible by the establishment of the University Grants Commission, which was established in 1953.

Indian has more than 17000 colleges and universities, 20 state universities, 217 state universities, 106 deemed universities, 13 institutes of national importance, and 217 central Universities. This is to meet the ever-growing education needs of the country.

 

India's renowned universities have managed to surprise the world despite being under immense pressure from massive illiteracy. The Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Management are three of the most highly regarded Indian universities and are listed among the top 200 universities in the world. Jawaharlal Nehru University is also included.
